Technogym secures Newcastle University partnership

Technogym has been appointed as the official fitness equipment supplier to Newcastle University.

The deal will see Newcastle University begin using the Technogym's Excite line of equipment, which offers a fully-connected cardio experience.

The equipment utilises the Unity platform, which allows gym users to access engaging digital experiences and personal content – such as Netflix and BBC iPlayer – at any time during their training session.

A new digital journey – thanks to the Technogym mywellness ecosystem – will also be introduced as part of the fitness element.

Stephen Barton, Technogym MD, said: "Newcastle University's vision to support students and staff members in finding their passion for fitness is a goal that aligns perfectly with the values held by Technogym.

"We look forward to collaborating throughout the partnership and playing a key part in making their vision a reality”.

Newcastle University is part of the Russell Group of universities and is "dedicated to providing its students with a wide range of opportunities to take part in sport and fitness".

Colin Blackburn, the university's director of sports services, added: "Technogym have not only demonstrated that they had an outstanding range of ergonomically designed equipment but also a user friendly digital platform designed to engage and inform our students including the option to upload their own personal content to make each workout unique, enjoyable and fun".
